Each shoe weighs around 2.5 pounds and really adds to the intensity of a workout. I also wear them out and about just like I would tennis shoes.
When I first started wearing them a few years ago, I worried that I would twist my knees so I caution anyone who wears them for the first time to be careful but over time my legs have got stronger and stronger.
Now, if I wear regular exercise shoes my legs fly around almost uncontrollably.
If you are unsure about buying shoes online, sizing is supposed to be close to that of Skechers. I tried on a pair of those and then used that sizing as a guide.
I also wear two pairs of socks to ensure a good, comfortable fit.
If I can’t manage a workout with my shoes on, it’s a sign to me I’ve lost conditioning and need to work a little harder to build it back up.
And I love the fact that I can get in a stealth workout as I go about my day.
Update 12/20/10: I have been experimenting with going barefoot more often including while doing T-Tapp. I still wear Metatreks in place of regular tennis shoes for daily use however. That works very well for me.
What do you do to build workouts into your every day? Let me know in the comments!
